Once you have decided
to custom build, we make the process as simple and as
easy as possible using the following steps:
Selecting A Community
For Your Home
Currently, we are building homes
in three communities in Ellington, CT: Ellridge
Place, Gasek Woods, and Gasek Farms. Please see
Our Communities for
more information on the available home sites and custom
home packages within each of these neighborhoods.
Selecting A Homesite
Within The Community
Between our three communities, you have a wide variety of home site
amenities to choose from including hillside views,
different home orientations, walkout basements, wooded
vs. open, etc. All of our home sites have public utilities
including sewer, water, and natural gas. It’s
important to select a home site prior to selecting
a home design because the home site amenities may have
an impact on the design.
Home buyer Information
Our homes are designed specifically for you. We don't limit your choices on home plans or style in any way. In order to fit you with the best home design for
you and your family, we need to gather a wish list from you on your specific wants and needs for your new home.
Once we receive this information, we will be able
to either select plans from our library that we feel will work for
you or design a new plan based upon your information. Or, you can even bring your own plan
and we’ll customize it for you!
Once you select a home site, we will present you with a timeline that will give you specific benchmarks throughout the design phase prior to signing the sales agreement. It covers specific dates that you should receive design changes, pricing, deposit date, and date to sign the sales agreement.
After selecting a base plan that works for you, we are able to customize the plan to any changes you would request. Whether you are bumping out a great room wall 6’, adding a walk-in pantry in the kitchen, or adding a fireplace in the master suite, our in-house design team can make the changes that make the house right for you. If you choose to bring your own plan, we can work with it and perform any re-design work needed.
The home specifications are just as important to the finished product as the home design. Between the first and second meeting with us, you’ll receive detailed information on our home package including flooring, framing material, cabinets, countertops, etc. We want you to be fully informed before making your decision to build with us. After or near the end of the design process, we will write up the custom specifications for your home. You will also be able to review our Options List which highlight the most exciting upgrades we have to offer. Please take a look at our Special Home Features page to learn about the beautiful features we include in ALL of our homes.
After signing a sales agreement, it’s time to start making final color and material selections! We provide you with a Selections Guide to give you an overview of the selections required during the custom building. During 4 to 5 meetings with us, we will walk you through each phase of selections so you can make an informed decision based on the options we’ve shown you. The selections process includes front door design, kitchen and bath cabinets, electrical layout, door hardware, interior trim, flooring, and much more!
Prior to closing, we walk the home with you to make sure that everything is to your complete satisfaction. After closing, if warranty items come up, we will inspect the items with you and get them repaired in an efficient manner.
As you can see, the process is not only enjoyable for you because you control so many of the details in your new home, but it is also pretty simple.
We would love the opportunity to build your new custom dream home!
